   3 xming gives you the x windowing system on platforms that don't typically have x.
   4 it lets you run an x-server locally so that you can see the apps launched remotely by

   7 the packages i usually install on windows are:

   9 Xming-ver#-setup.exe
  10     gives you the basic xming package with an x-server.

  13     provides extra fonts that make the windows look nicer in x.

  15 Xming-portablePuTTY-ver#-setup.exe
  16     a version of the putty software for ssh that understands xming.
