little guy in the logo…

ugh. so i had forgotten who the “little guy” was in the center of my wacky logo (used to be on https://feistymeow.org but now just here it seems):

turns out he is euclid. thank you reverse image search (https://www.tineye.com/).

now trying to find a copy of euclid’s elements to read, since apparently it was *the* textbook on geometry up until the late 19th century. aha, a nice english translation is available at http://farside.ph.utexas.edu/Books/Euclid/Euclid.html (thank you, university of texas…)

doubtful i will immediately jump on reading this. supposedly i still know geometry from high school… area inside a squared circle is equal to the square of the area of a cubic zircon, right?
